Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only offer ebook design?

We offer ebook design in multiple formats and we also create beautifully presented book designs for print. PDF ebooks are great for graphical free reports or highly visual layouts which are designed to be viewed on a desktop computer or laptop, whilst mobi and ePub ebooks are designed to read on e-reader devices such as the Kindle. Don’t worry if all of this sounds a little confusing, please contact us and we’ll be more than happy to guide you.

I've written a book, but I'm not sure where to start - Can you help?

Publishing a book or an ebook can seem daunting at first. With all of the various formats and different options available, you might think it’s all a lot more complicated than it actually is. Fortunately, we’re on hand to simplify the process and help you along every step of the way. We’ve helped  people from all walks of life, so whatever your background or level of experience you can rest assured we’ll do the same for you

Our previous clients cover the whole spectrum, from a grandmother in her 80s, to directors of multi-million-pound businesses, all the way through to a school teacher and her class of 10 to 11 year olds.

What information will you need from me to create my book?

In order to start work on your ebook design project, we’ll need the text of your book [supplied in Word format or similar] along with any specific logos that you might want to include. We’ll also need to take a design brief to get an idea of how you might want your book to look – this is something we help you with, so don’t worry if you don’t have a clue right now!

My ebook or book contains confidential information. Can I be sure that it will be safe with your company?

All documents sent to us are treated with the utmost confidentiality. We never disclose ebooks or any part of their contents to third parties. We are happy to sign an NDA [Non Disclosure Agreement] where necessary.

Does your design service include stock images?

Our price includes the sourcing of any stock photography necessary  to complete your project. If you have any of your own images or illustrations that you’d like to include, this is absolutely fine and we’re more than happy to accommodate this.

What happens if I don’t like the book design?

We include unlimited revisions on all of our book designs. This means that, if, for any reason, you’re not happy with any aspect of your book design all you have to do is let us know and we’ll change it for you. Simple!

What do you mean by unlimited revisions?

Exactly that! During the design stage, we’re happy to make changes to the design until you are 100% happy with everything. Unlike other book designers, we don’t limit the number of revisions we’ll do, so this means you end up with a final product that you can be truly proud of.  This offer does not apply to text edits.

What about changes to the text of the book/ebook?

We’re happy to make a couple of minor edits to your content for you, but, to ensure we can design and format your book efficiently, all content must be supplied in its final edited format. We ask that you review the initial document we send you, and provide details of all changes needed

How do I send you any requested changes?

It’s easy; please just send us your changes on an email. If your changes include any small text changes, please be sure to include clear references to the page number and paragraph of the text you’d like to change.

How long will the book design process take?

We’ll usually get you an initial design within seven working days and once we receive details of any changes from you we can usually have everything tied up and completed within a matter of days.

What size can my book be?

That’s totally down to you. We can accommodate any size depending upon your needs, so if you need a custom page size, please just let us know. Page numbers are calculated cover to cover.

Will my printer accept your files?

All printers have different requirements about the kind of files they accept and the specifications theses files should meet. We understand this and we’ll always ensure that any files we supply are formatted correctly and meet the exact specifications of your chosen printer – whether it’s Lulu, Lightning Source, Createspace or someone less well known.

Can I be sure Amazon will accept my files?

Absolutely. We guarantee that Amazon will accept your files and, if you get stuck, we can even help you to upload them to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Do I own the rights to the book design you create?

Of course. You own 100% of the rights to distribute your new book.

Do I need an ISBN?

In most cases, if you’re publishing a book, the short answer is “Yes.” However, depending upon who you chose to publish or distribute your ebook or book, you might not need to purchase this separately. Many providers offer this as part of the service – please ask us for more details.

Do you keep any of my royalties?

Absolutely not! We offer an ebook design service that’s designed to help self published authors. This means we take care of any graphical or technical elements for you, but we don’t get involved in the publishing. We are happy to advise you on how to publish your book [it’s surprisingly simple and can actually be done in around five minutes], but we’re not  a publishing house so we don’t take a cut.
